Abstract

This research aims to find out the strategies used by students of English Language Education program at Bengkulu University to deal with their anxiety when presenting in ELT seminar classes. This research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive research model. The populations in this study were students in the sixth semester of the English Language Education program at Bengkulu University in 2023/2024. The sample in this research was 54 students. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 20 statements on strategies for dealing with speaking anxiety based on the theory of Kondo and Ying�Ling (2004). These strategies consist of preparation, positive thinking, relaxation, peer seeking, and resignation. The results of this research show that students in the English language program use all of these strategies. Based on the findings, the strategy most frequently used by students in the sixth semester of Bengkulu University English Language Program in 2023/2024 to deal with anxiety during presentations in ELT seminar classes is the positive thinking strategy Keywords: Anxiety, Strategies, ELT Seminar Class
