Abstract
The objectives of this research were to find out the students’ strategies for relieving their anxiousness while teaching in a micro teaching class of seventh semester students of English Department of University of Bengkulu registered in 2020/2021 academic year. The sample of this research was the seventh semester of English Education Study Program Bengkulu University in the academic year 2020/2021, the total numbers of the students were 54 students from A, B and C class. The instrument used was questionnaire contained five strategies of relieving anxiety (Preparation, positive thinking, relaxation, peer seeking and resignation). The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive quantitative methods. The results showed that the average score preparation the total average was 3.19; for positive thinking was 3.37; for relaxation was 3.22; for peer seeking was 2.88; and for resignation was 2.53. The most preferred strategy relieving anxiety on teaching performance was positive thinking and it categorized always. It is recommended that teachers can inform these strategies to the students so it can be implemented to relieve anxiety in the teaching and learning process.
