Abstract

The title of this study is “The Effect of Families” socio-economy toward food consumtion patterns : A Case Study in the Cinta Mandi Village of the Bermani Ilir Subdistrict of the Kepahiang Regency. The focus of the study was to identify the picture of the food consumption patterns in the Cinta Mandi Village of the Bermani Ilir Subdistrict of the Kepahiang Regency and to the effect the families’ socio-economy like the families’income, the number of the family members, the level of mothers’ education with their food consumpon patterns in the Cinta Mandi Village of the Bermani Ilir Sub-district of the Kepahiang Regency. To show the food consumption patterns, the study used an Expected Food Pattern Score (PPH-the Indonesian abbreviation) and to identify the effect of the families’ income, the number of the family members, the level of the mothers’ education variables, it used a multiple linier analysis. The samples used in the study were 23 respondents out of 235 people in the Cinta Mandi Village of the Bermani Ilir Sub-district of the Kepahiang Regency. The result of the study show that the average food consumpti on Pattern was 58,05. It mean that the food consumption patterns in the Cinta Mandi Village had not varied yet and it had not met a nutrition standard. To test the hypothesis, the table F was 3.31 and the counted F was 12.381 meaning that the families’ income, the number of the family members and the level of the mothers’education simultaneously affected the food consumption patters significattly. From the partial calculation (T-test), the families’ income variable was 3,030 and the level of the mothers’ education variable was 1,419. these mean that partially the families’ income, the number of the family members variables affected the food consumption pattern variable; whereas, the level of the mothers’ education variable did not affect the food consumption pattern.
