Abstract

This article discusses the model of constructivism teaching to improve student’s motivation for the optimum achievement. The Constructivism model by using module which was conducted in Chemistry teaching practiced in two locations: 1) between the difference of quality schools in Padang, and 2) between learning by using module and LKS in Solok. Finding show that: 1) In Padang, the location of this research was at SMAN 1 (favorite) and SMAN 9 (ordinary). The gain scores of students’ achievement were analyzed by Monas Statistic Programs version 1 1 © 2 0 0 7.The result of data analysis showed that the students’ achievement based in gain-score of experiment class better than control class, both in outstanding school as well as ordinary school. The findings of this research show that the constructivism model in teaching Chemistry can be apart of the outstanding services which improve the students’ achievement in outstanding school as well as ordinary school. II. In Solok, the location of this research was at SMAN West Solok. The student learned chemistry by using module (for experiment class) and LKS (for control class). Theresult of data analysis showed that the students’achieve ment of experiment class also better than control class. According to both the research above, we can conclude that this approach can be suggested for Chemistry teachers in teaching Chemistry at Senior High School.
