Abstract
Steam power is one of fluid power system where fluid is evaporated and condensed simultaneously. Rankine cycle is one of cycles that can analyze a steam power plant system in thermodynamic way. Development of technology to perform fast and accurate analysis makes method of analysis manually is becoming obsolete and computing as of the best alternative method is chosen. Matlab programming has been created to analyze the efficiency of the steam power generation systems by using simple Rankine cycle, Rankine cycle with reheater, Rankine cycle with an open feedwater heater and closed feedwater heater. Program data has been simulated with a theoretical calculation. Efficiency is shown by comparison with the computational efficiency of the program obtained from theoretical calculations, where the error occurred in the steam generation system 0.004% for simple Rankine cycle, Rankine cycle with reheater is 0.001%, Rankine cycle with an open feedwater heater is 0.001% and a Rankine cycle with closed feedwater heater has result 0004%. In conclusion, Computing program steam power system can be used for steam power system analysis succesfully because it has a very small error.
