Abstract

The purpose of this study is to prove that the form of basic earning power and cash flow have a significant financial distress to predict the conditions of manufacturing companies which listed on the Bursa Efek Indonesia. This study uses secondary data collected from www.idx.co.id. Testing hypotheses use logistic regression analysis. The sample in this study were drawn from population of companies listed on the Bursa Efek Indonesia period 2008-2010. Sample selection is done by purposive sampling. Based on these criteria, only 20 qualified companies. The criteria to determine condition of Financial and Non Financial Distress is interest coverage ratio (ICR), which will get the level of financial distress classification of manufacturing companies. interest coverage ratio (ICR) grouping criteria are as follows: ICR < 1.00, the company experienced financial distress and ICR > 1.00, the company that did not experience financial distress. The results prove that basic earning power significantly influence to predict conditions of company's financial distress, and the cash flow is not significant to predict the condition of company's financial distress. Conclusion obtained in this study is: the financial performance of companies that were analyzed through the basic earning power and cash flow influential significantly predicted the company's conditions of financial distress with 56.7% prediction accuracy.
