Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of cross-border acquisitions on the performance of banks listed on the Stock Exchange as measured by profitability and free cash flow. Testing profitability and free cash flow in this study using test equipment paired sample t-test, with the observation period from the year 2000 to 2008. Windows period in this study was 3 years prior to the acquisition of cross country and three years after the acquisition of cross country. The test results indicate that the first hypothesis bank performance as measured by profitability better after being acquired by foreigners. The second hypothesis testing results show that the performance of banks as measured by free cash flow is not better after being acquired by foreigners.
