Abstract

Pipeline will follow different route and length, one of these is offshore pipeline. To prevent trouble while operated, one must be done in pipeline design is stress analysis which calculate stress happened in pipeline operation, due to keep maximum stress happened still under allowable stress of pipeline material. This reserach concern on stress analysis of 1497.63 m gas pipeline. Models are done by using finite element method software with some pressures and temperatures discrepency. Result of this research shows that maximum stress happened 9212.6 psi while pressure is 1000 psi and temperature is 140 0 0 F. Meanwhile, at pressure 1400 psi and temperature 160 F, maximum stress is 12387 psi. Both of those stresses is still far below allowable stress of pipeline material so that it can be said pipeline is secure.
