Abstract
Production of peanuts and soybean in Indonesia has not been able to suply domestic demand . One attempt to improve the production is to use farming equipment simple . In the design processis required a methodology that can produce optimum product . One of methodology used in the design is Hatamura methodology . design starts from requirements , specification , functional level , conceptual level and component level . This research is purpose to design agricultural tools for seed planter are not expensive and ergonomic . The first step of the design is to create a process diagram of a seed planter. Process diagram consist of functions of input ( hand , sforce , grains ) , process , and output ( space , kinetic energy and hands ) . Before manufacturing process , structure model of seed planter is analysed with finite element simulations to determine strength of the design. Von misses strength during static conditions is 1.8 MPa whereas when moving about 2.48 MPa . This condition is declared safety because the yield strength of the steel material are around 200-400 MPa . From this study, then made a proto -type seed planter ergonomic and low cost so that it can be used by all farmers
