Abstract

Education is one of the Indonesian government efforts to ac lieve one of the objectives as a nation namely educating the life of nation. Improving the quality of education in Indonesia is always done by the government gradually. The indicators of education quality improvement is a standard used by the government in its efforts to improve the quality of education in terms of the various point of view. The purpose of this research is to create a Geographic Information System for maping the quality of education of all primary school in suburban area of Bengkulu . As a sample, elementary schools are selected by purposive sampling technique. Geographic Information System is built using PHP (Personal Home Page) as a programming language, MySQL as database, and UML as the modeling of software design. As input in the form of school data and population data. The final result of Geographic Information System software is the map that comes with the coordinates of each school, school profile, and the results of the calculation of the 13 indicators of the education quality in the form of numbers. Testing the feasibility of software use the black box method with several test requirements. Based on the test results, functional software is appropriate, feasible, and can be used to Map the Quality of Primary School Education in the suburban area of the Bengkulu City with spatial based.
