Abstract

Forest management that is fair and sustainable forest management that is responsible with respect to environmental and socially sustainable. Instrument that can support it by applying ecolabel certification system as a standard of quality in the forestry sector to produce, so in addition to compete in global markets, as well as to continue to preserve the environment as well as efforts to anticipate the increasing global warming. The results explain that : first, ecolabel certification procedure is done through pre- assessment phase of the field, field assessments and community input, performance evaluation, determination of the decision, and inspection. In substance, a series of ecolabel certification forestry sector is concerned with legal certainty and product quality standards in order management and forest use decisions based on license issued by the competent authority ; second, ecolabel certificate is an instrument to improve management performance, which in turn will increase the value forestry sector, selling its products in global markets / international. Ecolabel certification systems can be used as an instrument of monitoring and evaluating implementation of the forestry sector licensing decision has been issued, in order to improve the sustainability of forests (sustainable forest management), and also functions as an instrument to control global warming.
