Abstract

Mengkudu (Morinda Citrifolia L) is one of herbal plants which are widely used as remedies; antioxidant and is evident to improve live performance. The objective of the research was to investigate the effect of feeding mengkudu on internal organs of broilers and serum cholesterol and trigliseride of broilers. One hundred broilers were distributed into five treatments. Research design used was completely randomized design. The treatments were different levels of mengkudu meal (0, 0.75%, 1.5%, 2.25 % and 3%). The diet was iso protein, iso calorie, Ca and P. Results showed that feeding mengkudu (Morinda Citrifolia L) no significant effects on internal organs ; however, there was a highly significant effect on serum cholesterol and trigliseride (P<0.01). In conclusion, feeding mengkudu (Morinda Citrifolia L) meal up to 3% does not negatively effect internal organs broiler , and is able to decrease serum cholesterol and trigliseride of broilers.
