Abstract

The research has been done at Entomology Laboratory, Faculty Natural Science and Mathematics of Bengkulu University from July to October 2009. The research goal was to know the duration of immature stages from some species of butterfly (family Papilionidae) on Pomelo (Citrus maxima Merr.) as a host plant. Eggs from that butterfly were collected by exploration method. The eggs were rearing until adult in laboratory, and then noted the times needed for each stage. Recording data also included identification, morphology and characteristic of the immature. The results shown there were three species that put their eggs on Pomelo (Citrus maxima Merr.), they were Papilio polytes, Papilio demoleus and Papilio polytes. The duration of immature stages of Papilio polytes was 22-26 days, Papilio demoleus 22-24 days, and 31-34 days for Papilio memnon in the range of 26-28 degrees Celcius ambient temperature and humidity of 67-84%.
