Abstract

The study has been conducted from January to April 2011. The purpose of this research was to investigate plant species that used, the way of utilization, and parts of plant used by communites of Desa Tanah Hitam. The research stages included field survey, sampling with interview, and collecting sample of plants. The research faund 15 families of plants consisting of 21 species (Calamus manan, Daemonorops longipes, Livistona sp (Arecaceae), Clidemia hirta (Melastomaceae), Bambusa sp (Poaceae), Eupatorium perfolia (Asteraceae), Shorea leprosula (Dipterocarpaceae), Alpinia sp, Alpinia sp (Zingiberaceae,) Sparganium sp (Sparganiaceae), Ficus sp, Artocarpus elasticus (Moraceae), Cyathea sp (Cyatheaceae), Rhodamnia cinerea (Myrtaceae), Gleichenia linearis (Gleicheniaceae), Baccaurea lanceolata (Burseraceae), Moraceae, Curculigo sp (Amaryllidaceae), sp 1, sp 2. People usually used those plants for traditional medicines, food, handycrafts, and as building material. Plant parts that have been used were root, stem, fruit, and bark.
