Abstract

This research is an action research that aimed at improving students’ activity and learning result by using cooperative learning with experiment method on light concept of the VIII G SMP Negeri 6 Bengkulu City. This research used Cooperative Learning model with experiment method. This research was done in three cycles. The subject of this research was the 26 VIII G class students even semester SMP Negeri 6 Bengkulu City 2013/2014 academic year. The data collection technique used observation sheet, LKS (Students Task Book) to measure the students learning activity, homework and objective test for the students result. Based on the result, the students activity average score in the cycle I was 32 and became 38 in the cycle II and improved to become 41 in the cycle III. The students learning result in the cycle I that was derived from the average score was 74, 81 improved to become 80, 82 in the cycle II and improved to become 83.76 in the cycle III. It can be concluded that cooperative learning model with experiment method on light concept can improve the students’ activity and learning result.
