Abstract

This research was aimed to finding how the fourth semester students’ ability in
giving presentation. This research was descriptive quantitative design. The population of
this research was the fourth semester of English Study Program at University Bengkulu in
academic year 2018/2019. The sample in this research were about 10 students, they were 3
students from class A, 4 students from class B and 3 students from class C. The instrument
of this research was video recorded. The tools of this research were co rater and table
rubric. The table rubric used to gathering the data of the students’ presentation and
adopted from kewen@valenclacc.edu (2006). The co rater used to help the researcher in
judgement the students presentation from video recorded. The result of this research
showed the dominant students’ presentation ability in moderate level, there were 3
students (30%) were indicated in “high” level, 4 students (40%) were indicated in
“moderate” level, and 3 students (30%) were indicated in “low” level. It showed that the
students were fairly good to manage the content and to delivery of the presentation. The
result showed that the students’ good in aspect subject knowledge and eye contact and the
students weak in aspect introduction and gesture and movement. Based on the finding, the
researcher conclude that aspect of “delivery” is more difficult than aspect of “content”.
