TRADISI TABOT SEBAGAI MEDIUM PEMERSATU MASYARAKAT KELURAHAN BERKAS KECAMATAN KOTA BENGKULU

This research aims to explore Tabot as a medium to unite and strenghten community as
well as preserve cultural identity. Data gathered using in-depth interview and secondary data collection. Research findings show that there is a beleief among Sipai, Tabot descent that Tabot ritual should be hels annualy in order to prevent calamity. It is also believed that the ritual contribute to promote sense of belonging within Bengkulu community. Keywords: ritual, community, cultural identity
