are possible to obtained new knowledge or information they needed to learn in a
lesson. However, in the reality students did not actively participate in learning
process. To overcome this problem, it is important for teachers needs to modify
their talk by using some techniques in order to get students‟ responses. This
research reported the types of teacher talk used by English teachers in the
classroom.
The data in this research was conducted by using mix method (qualitative
and quantitative method). The research was conducted at the tenth grade of
SMAN 5 Kota Bengkulu. The data were collected through video recording. The
teachers‟ talk was analyzed using types FLINT by Moskowitz (1971). The
research findings showed that asking question was the most commonly used
category of talk by both of the teachers in English Classroom, while correcting
without rejection was the least. This means that the teachers tended to use indirect
