Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini: mengetahui pandangan pengarang (Agnes Davonar) tentang kehidupan tokoh Oei Hui Lan dalam novel Oei Hui Lan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil pembahasan penelitian ini True Story
yang sangat menginspirasi Agnes Davonar menulis novel Oei Hui Lan, pandangan Agnes Davonar terhadap kehidupan Oei Hui Lan adalah seorang wanita dengan kehidupan yang terlihat sangat sempurna tetapi kesempurnaan kehidupan Oei Hui Lan inilah yang menjadikan Oei Hui Lan seseorang yang lupa
untuk bersyukur dengan apa yang telah ia dapatkan, justru ketidakpuasan yang ada dalam dirinya menjadi masalah dalam kehidupannya.
