Abstract

Group counseling as a guidance and counseling service does not yet have a
standard instrument in assessing its activities. This study was designed to develop
group counseling assessment instruments. In particular, this study carried out
content validity, empirical validity, and internal reliability of group counseling
assessment instruments.
This research is focused on developing a group counselling assessment instrument
which a research and development approach is used. The development procedural
model in the 10 R & D cycles prposed by Borg & Gall. The research responden
were selected by purposive sampling, namely student who have attended group
counseling in high school in Bengkulu province, namely SMA Negeri 1 Rejang
Lebong, SMA Negeri 4 Rejang Lebong, SMA Negeri 1 Kepahyang, SMA Negeri
2 Bengkulu City, SMA Negeri 1 South Bengkulu and SMA Negeri 1 North
Bengkulu with a total of 200 respondents. This study used a scale instrument in
the form of Likert. Data were analysed through content validation by panelists
with the formula CVR (Content Validity Ratio), item analysis through correlation
techniques with SPSS version 21, reliable analysis through the Cronbach Alpha
metodh (α) and finally the data were analyzed through the SEM (Structural
Equation Modeling) method.
The results of the study showed that the analiysis of the group counselling
assessment is effective to assess the group counselling in the setting of senior high
school (SMA). This was tested by the analysis of Content Validity Ratio (CVR)
over 0,62. The result of empirical validity showed a good validity coefficient. The
highest coofesient is 0,609 and the lowes is 0,300. The result of internal reliability
analysis showed a high level of reliability which is (α)= 0,935. The analysis of
SEM method showed thet the connection between the variable to each dimension
showed the highest correlation coefficient is 0,96 while the lowest is 0,51. This
group counseling assessment also has a high external validity because it was
tested by the expert (panellist) from different education background and the
different culture with the respondent who is also from demography background
and the different culture.
