Abstract
This study aims to analyze (1) To identify the types of deixis used in natural
disaster articles in the Jakarta Post, (2) To analyze the references of Deixis Found
in Natural Disaster Articles in the Jakarta Post. The research was conducted using
qualitative methods, and the data were analyzed based on Levinson's theory (1983).
The results of this study show that: (1) there are 5 types of deixis used in natural
disaster articles in Jakarta Post, namely, person deixis, place deixis, time deixis,
social deixis and discourse deixis. And the total deixis was found in 7 articles is 179
deixis used in natural disaster articles. (2) The references in natural disaster articles
in Jakarta Post are interrelated with the deixis used and all references are clear.
