Abstract

Comprehensive Midwifery Care for Mrs. D G3P2A0 with Risk Factors of Age
Over 35 Years and Pregnancy Interval Less Than 2 Years at the Independent
Midwifery Practice (IMP) of Z. Muharamah, Bengkulu City.
Maternal mortality remains a significant public health issue, largely caused
by complications during pregnancy through the postpartum period. Risk factors
contributing to the increased maternal mortality rate are known as the "4 Too’s":
too young (<20 years), too old (>35 years), too close (<2 years), or too far apart
(>5–10 years) pregnancy intervals, and having too many children (>3). These
conditions may lead to serious complications for both the mother and the baby.
This case study aims to provide comprehensive midwifery care for Mrs. D,
G3P2A0, who has risk factors of age >35 years and pregnancy interval <2 years.
The method used is descriptive with a case study approach through observation,
interviews, physical examination, documentation, and literature review.
The midwifery care provided included health education on pregnancy danger
signs, Birth Planning and Complication Prevention, the 10T approach, utilization
of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbook, Midwife Vehicle Equipment
Letter Family Medicine Money Blood, activities postpartum care, monitoring of
postpartum danger signs, and contraceptive counseling. The accompaniment
during pregnancy went well, labor occurred spontaneously without complications,
and the postpartum period proceeded smoothly.
In conclusion, the midwifery care provided was in accordance with the
client's needs and was based on theory and evidence-based practice. The
comprehensive care delivered over six weeks improved service quality and helped
reduce the risk of complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum
period for a high-risk mother.
