Abstract

Interactive Digital Storytelling (IDST) is a form of storytelling that leverages
digital technology to create an engaging and participatory narrative experience.
IDST allows the audience to interact with the story, influencing its progression
and outcome through their choices and actions. The aims of this study are to know
English teachers implementation and the challenges in implementing IDST to
promote HOTs for EFL Senior high school Students. This study used qualitative
descriptive method to collect the data. The findings reveal that the teachers'
overall performance in implementing IDST was rated as "Good," with particular
strengths noted in script creation, the integration of music, sound effects, images,
and videos. while the teachers demonstrated a commendable implementing of
IDST and its role in promote HOTs, various challenges hindered its full
integration into English language teaching. Key challenges include technical
difficulties, limited access to resources, varying levels of digital literacy among
students, time constraints, and the need for professional development and
technical support. It showed a commendable level of performance, but there are
areas for improvement. Addressing the challenges in implementing IDST is
crucial for its successful integration into English language teaching. Providing
teachers with the necessary resources, training, and support will help mitigate
