Abstract
In the 21st century, education adopts innovative teaching methods, with deep
learning approach being a key focus on developing critical thinking, problem
solving, and creative skills in teaching process. This research aims to uncover
junior high school teachers’ knowledge on the of the deep learning approach in
their teaching practices. This research employed a descriptive quantitative
research design to uncover junior high school teachers' knowledge on the deep
learning approach in teaching English in Bengkulu city. The study utilized a
close-ended questionnaire and Google Forms for data collection, with a 3-point
Likert scale for clarity and consistency 1= Yes, 0.5= Not sure, 0= No. The
findings revealed that junior high English teachers in Bengkulu city possess a
very high level of knowledge about the deep learning approach in teaching
English with an average total score of 57,06 out of 60. In conclusion, very high
total scores across participants indicate that these concepts are well understood
and probably established in their pedagogical thinking.
