ANALYSIS OF MORAL VALUES IN PUSH IN BOOT MOVIE 2011

This qualitative research aims to identify the moral values portrayed in the
animated film Puss in Boots (2011) directed by Chris Miller. The study analyzed a
total of 70 dialogue sentences collected through repetitive viewing, note-taking, and
direct observation by the researcher as the primary instrument. Specifically, the value
of responsibility was represented 24 times, caring appeared 16 times, honesty was
shown 9 times, respect was 8 times , courage appeared 7 times, self-control was
represented 4 times, and fairness was noted twice, Among these. The presence of
responsibility further highlighted the themes of the story. In contrast, values such as
self-control and fairness appeared with lower frequency, suggesting they play a
subtler role in the moral messaging. This study concludes that the film Puss in Boots
effectively communicates several key moral values that foster social and ethical
awareness among viewers. The findings indicate that animated films serve as
meaningful media for moral education through storytelling and character
development, contributing to the audience’s understanding of fundamental human
virtues.
